How does the writer convey the purpose of the text?

Rachel Carson uses a lots of research material to get a good background for her book. Even though it was hard to get a lot of good information at this time. She still got some good research material and was working together with some really good people.
She uses different research about the decrease of birds and other animals.
All this has a feeling for strong emotions but also of logic. So pathos and logos in her book. It give a really bad feeling that people should have question it chemical more and that people didn't think about the future as much as they do now.
